Dr. Guo is Senior Researcher at United BioSource Corporation
and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the School of Public Health,
Saint Louis University, Missouri. He obtained his Master degree
in health administration in 1999 and PhD in Public Health in
2005 at Saint Louis University. Throughout much of his PhD training,
Dr. Guo also acted as Chief Operating Officer at Pan-America
Hyperbarics, Inc., Taipei, Taiwan. In this role he conducted
marketing research to study physician’s adoption of medical
technology and identified unmet market needs. In this role he
was also responsible for all marketing and sales activities.
As a Senior Researcher at UBC, Dr. Guo has designed and conducted
numerous evaluations of health technologies (i.e., cost-effectiveness
and cost-benefit analysis) and retrospective database analyses,
and is experienced in modeling the course of diseases using
discrete event simulation and Markov modeling. He has published
several scientific papers and presented at various conferences.
Dr. Guo has received professional training in cost-effectiveness
analysis at the School of Public Health, Harvard University
and is skilled in the application of various statistical packages
including ARENA, SPSS, and TreeAge.
