Vetta L. Sanders Thompson, Ph.D, MPH
Adjunct Associate Professor of Community Health in Behavioral Science and Health Education

Dr. Thompson's primary research interests are in cultural competence and its application to health and mental health service delivery and the elimination of health disparities. Her research has focused on the development of measurement tools and strategies to assess social and cultural issues relevant to service delivery. Dr. Thompson's teaching is currently focused on theory, research and practice with ethnic minorities. She is a licensed clinical psychologist with fifteen years of licensed practice. Dr. Thompson is active in numerous professional associations including the American Psychological Association, Missouri Psychological Association, and the Midwest Sociological Society. She is an Associate Editor for Contemporary Psychology.
