Additional

An applicant must
possess a baccalaureate degree from a recognized college or university. In
addition, scores must be submitted from one of the following: Graduate Record
Examination (GRE), Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT), Medical College
Admissions Test (MCAT), or Law School Admissions Test (LSAT).
The examination requirement

practice in the United States. The requirements for admission and achievement

Credit Transfer and Waivers
Credit for graduate work done at another college or university may be accepted
toward the MHA, MPH or PhD degrees if the student earned a B or better for the
course credits being transferred. Students may waive certain coursework with
approval from their faculty advisor.

Full-Time and Part-Time Study
Both full-time and part-time study
opportunities are available for School programs. Requirements for admission
and achievement of degrees are identical for both full-time and part-time
students and the same faculty teach full-time and part-time students. Certain
minimum course load requirements apply to degree programs for part-time
students and should be discussed with the school's Manager of Student Services
if part-time study is sought.
Elective Coursework
Elective courses may be chosen from offerings
of the School of Public Health and other units of the University, such as the
School of Business and Administration (e.g., advanced courses in finance and
marketing) and the School of Social Service (e.g., courses in gerontology).
Some School electives are offered on a routine basis while others are offered
based on student demand.
Transfer of Credit/Course Waivers
Credit for graduate work done at another
college or university may be accepted for credit toward the MHA, MPH, or PhD
degrees. Ordinarily, work completed elsewhere more than five years prior to
the beginning of the current degree program will not be approved for transfer
into the current program. In order for credit to be transferred, an official
transcript of the student's record must be sent to the Graduate School by the
college or university at which the work was done, the student must have
completed six hours of coursework toward the degree at Saint Louis University,
and the transfer of credit must have been approved by School of Public Health
faculty. The maximum number of hours that may be transferred varies by degree
program. In general, work that was part of a master's degree program completed
elsewhere will not be approved for transfer; i.e., the same course may not be
"double counted" in two separate master's degree programs.
Similarly, a graduate course taken in partial fulfillment of undergraduate
degree requirements may not also be included in a graduate degree program.
Further information about transfer of credit can be obtained from the school's
Manager of Student Services or the student’s faculty advisor.
Students may waive certain coursework, with replacement of credit hours toward
the degree, based on previous undergraduate or graduate coursework. Questions
about course waivers should be discussed with the student's faculty advisor
after admission.
